Glenavon Community Trust

The Glenavon Community Trust has been formed by a group of concerned residents to try and make an effort to address some of the social problems within the community including alcohol and drug abuse, poverty, domestic abuse, low child health, child neglect, youth gang culture, vandalism, intimidation, crime, teenage pregnancy, truancy and low academic achievement. The Trust aims to work towards addressing these problems by developing positive programmes to encourage and educate young people; provide activities and education to the wider Glenavon community; foster and encourage community relationships; and coordinate community services for the benefit of the Glenavon community.

Current Trust activities include the provision of the small community building Glenavon Community Hub (currently used by Social Worker in Schools, Plunket, and a few local interest groups), production and distribution of a community newsletter informing residents of news and activities within the community; the coordination of a local Neighbourhood Support group; and distribution of donated food to needy families.

Trustees all live in Glenavon.

Glenavon Community Trust is a Registered Charitable Entity, registration numberĀ CC43505.
